video.
i don't know what it is, but i have recently had some requests to do some music videos. Not for me, of course, but for other people. Right now I am working on a video for After Nothings' End, for their song "Remote Control". maybe it will jump start me back into short films.

It's that time of the year again.
well, close anyway. Shane is once again putting out a halloween compilation ("Do the Fright Thing volume 2"), and I will again be featured on it. And so will Black Andy. That means I have two halloween related songs to write and record. I wrote one called "I Go Out at Night" that was going to be "my" submission, but it, in the recording process, came out more like BA, so, I think that's that. As for mine? I was thinking a cover. "Everyday is Halloween" by Ministry, or "She's a Zombie Now" by the Meteors. But, then I thought, I've done a few covers lately, so maybe I should relax that a bit. I've been meaning to get to recording a gentle e.p. for a while now, but with the writing/recording of the BA e.p. I just haven't gotten to it. Maybe the comp will act as a catalyst for it. Hey, it worked last year with "Mute". Who knows.

Almost June. Things to Do.
A month has passed since my last post. I'm not a very active "blogger" I suppose. Anyways, musically speaking, I have been all over the fucking place. I recorded a ton of demos for Black Andy, that may or may not find themselves in a setlist at some point (some just aren't very good). Then, I have also been demoing tracks for a third "M" e.p., completing a trilogy of sorts I guess. If you notice, the e.p.'s that start with M always tend to be a bit gentler. Now, because I am a lazybones, and I have other shit on my mind besides music no one will ever hear, this project has kind of taken a back seat to everything else. Lately, I've been thinking about putting on a few "solo" shows. Me, a guitar, maybe some triggered electronics, idk. I have a craving for screaming feedback and some pop songs. I have a feeling that this summer will be busy.

Black Andy things
Played a show at a local watering hole last night. the sound was great. much better than the pa in my living room. We had two moments of terror. The first right off the bat when we were playing Tokyo (i cringe thinking about it), The second was when my bass for whatever reason shit the bed for a minute or so in the middle of "Return...". Blondes apparently is a hell of a heavy song in a good live environment. Alos, wicked game went over as it usually does. A demo for the track "Tokyo" just went up on the myspace. I think we are going to take a break from playing out for a bit to get our shit more solid.

I just realized
the fifth anniversary of Meal Ticket Apocalypse will be 2012. Fitting. Maybe I'll do a silver press of it then to mark the occasion.

to catch you up...
Here is a promo I did for "Four" (or, as I call it "4"):
also...
Shane and I finally got around to getting a band together. The story so far is as follows...
we wanted to start a band.
2 weeks ago i got offered a show to open for a couple of touring bands. I took it. but ididn't have a band. I grabbed shane and said something to the effect of "okay, lets start a band. we hav two weeks to get a set together." A week later we had our first rehearsal. We brought in a mutual friend, Mr. Christopher Brown (who has played with shane on multiple projects) for guitar. We started rehearsing re-written versions of a bunch of songs from my older E.P.'s. We rehearsed for two days, got a set of 5 songs, and on this sunday, we find out if two days was enough... Oh yeah, it's called Black Andy.

the things going on...
halfway finished with a brand spanking new e.p. called "Four". It's a brash one, so, you know, play it loud. Also, i have been re-working 6 older tracks from previous e.p.'s to use as material for my new band, Black Andy. I need one more member I think, but I have been re working the songs to be played with absolute minimal shit, so, only the two that are currently signed on to do this, are needed.
